Culture is a way of life that developed and owned jointly by a group and are inherited from generation to generation. Form of a culture there are two, namely the material culture and cultural non - material. Cultural materials, including the creation of everything that can be seen his form in practice. Examples of material culture is clothing, buildings, goods - goods such as televisions, airplanes, and other - other. While the non-material culture is the creation of everything that is not tangible like stories, fairy tales, songs, values, norms, and another - another. Henceforth we will discuss more about one of the results of material culture, namely the development of the architecture of a building.

Architecture or design of a building which is the result of a culture would have evolved over time. The design of a building as well adapted to changing lifestyles and levels of human needs are always changing. In ancient times, or it can be said the ancient cultures, people have started to erect a building with creativity and simple technology at their disposal. Of course at that time the building has its own characteristics and charm. Building - this building is usually the result of local acculturation. For example, the building - the building is not separated from the ancient Roman pillars - pillars tall and magnificent buildings in the country China or the diakulturasi of the temple - the temple with a carving - carving beautiful.

Building one of the most famous of ancient relics, unique, and amazing construction techniques are building pyramids in Egypt. Pyramids in Egypt are generally used as tombs of the kings of Ancient Egypt. Pyramid was not made arbitrarily. The engineers used to calculate the distance of the ancient Egyptian pyramids to the sun, because the sun is one of the most important things in the life of ancient Egypt. Scientists of today also recognize excellence in building their pyramids, including the seven wonders of the world. Time, treasure, and the energy released by the construction of the pyramids were enormous. Pyramid construction takes about twenty years and employ more than ten thousand slaves, and many lives lost during the construction process.

Now, the ancient culture of the grandest buildings are adapted and presented back to the present or modern culture. Egyptian pyramids are now present in the Louvre museum in Paris, France. The surprising thing is that the original pyramid made of stone during the ancient culture has now been transformed into an ultra modern pyramid. Pyramid structure built entirely of glass, reach a height of 20.6 meters and a square base with sides of 35 meters. Pyramid and the underground lobby underneath it were created because of a series of problems with the main entrance of the original Louvre, which can no longer handle a large number of visitors on an everyday basis. Visitors enter through the pyramid, then down into the spacious lobby then back up to the main building of the Louvre.

Lourve Museum is one of the largest museums in the world. This museum has lots of artwork by acclaimed artist in the world. One of the most famous painting 'Mona Lisa' and 'The Last Supper' by Da Vinci. The museum is old enough so that the old main building was very strong with the traditional elements of France.

However, the convergence of the ancient or traditional cultural elements with modern culture in this magnificent museum building, causing a number of pros and cons. Many people feel that building a futuristic pyramid which served as the museum's entrance looks too out of place in front of the Louvre Museum with classical architecture so traditional and classical elements of the early buildings of the Louvre felt drowned. On the other hand, some artists and also assumes that architecture is an art museum Lourve very beautiful and of high artistic merit of being able to combine the ancient culture and modern culture in a single unit.
